چکیده

Study design: A quasi-experimental study design Background: The motion of the suboccipital region is controlled by several groups smaller and larger muscle group, these might play a role in development cervicogenic headache. Abnormal tone can lead to abnormal movement patterns resulting altered proprioceptive information from mechanoreceptors this region. Thus, will contribute cervical dysfunction result pain, joint irritation, poor functioning neck. At same time , unilateral contraction muscles could rotation atlas. This significant translation spinal cord toward side within dural sack. homolateral shift then tension possibly headaches. Methods: convenience sample 25 healthy subjects were recruited for study. Musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging was used measure diameter Obliquus Capitis Inferior Rectus Posterior Major immediately following an isometric into head extension rotation. Outcomes: An isometric-induced resulted change obliquus capitis inferior contralateral rectus posterior major and, thus, affect position atlas atlantoaxial joint. Discussion: effect subgroup asymptomatic individuals measured using musculoskeletal imaging. results indicate that both significantly changed with contraction. study's findings support contract isolation thus

The obliquus capitis inferior myodural bridge.

This study was designed to examine the obliquus capitis inferior (OCI) muscle from a gross anatomical perspective. The objective was to isolate and identify the OCI myodural bridge, while examining its course and contributing elements. An earlier study of the posterior cervical spine briefly reported a connection between the OCI and the cervical dura mater. To the best of our knowledge, a study...

Histological analysis of the rectus capitis posterior major's myodural bridge.

BACKGROUND CONTEXT In recent literature, a soft-tissue communication between the rectus capitis posterior major (RCPma) muscle and the cervical dura mater has been identified. To the best of our knowledge, this communication has yet to be validated from a histological perspective nor has it been examined for neural tissue. PURPOSE The purpose of this study was to examine the composition and t...

Fluoroscopy and Sonographic Guided Injection of Obliquus Capitis Inferior Muscle in an Intractable Occipital Neuralgia

Occipital neuralgia is a form of headache that involves the posterior occiput in the greater or lesser occipital nerve distribution. Pain can be severe and persistent with conservative treatment. We present a case of intractable occipital neuralgia that conventional therapeutic modalities failed to ameliorate. We speculate that, in this case, the cause of headache could be the greater occipital...

Sonography of the normal greater occipital nerve and obliquus capitis inferior muscle.

BACKGROUND To use sonography to measure the cross-sectional area (CSA) of the greater occipital nerve (GON) and the adjacent obliquus capitis inferior muscle (OCI) in normal subjects. METHODS Data from 30 asymptomatic subjects between the ages of 22 and 35 were collected. CSA and circumference of the GON and CSA of OCI were measured using sonography. Interexaminer reliability analysis was per...

Anatomic relation between the rectus capitis posterior minor muscle and the dura mater.

STUDY DESIGN Anatomic study of the suboccipital region, specifically the deep muscles of the suboccipital triangle, was performed in cadaveric specimens. OBJECTIVE To observe and describe the relationship between the deep suboccipital musculature and the spinal dura. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA A review of the literature revealed no reports describing a physical connection between suboccipit...
